Stop the conscious searching of your passion and just live passionately.Trying to find a passion is often a fruitless exercise, though it is heavily advised in many books and articles. A better strategy is to lead a passionate life, which is a more holistic approach too.

Living passionately means living in the now, in the present moment. It means not being distracted on your phone, but being engaged in what you love doing. It means interacting with others deeply and fully, giving all your attention and focus.

An example of being holistically passionate in your life is the habit of constantly learning, absorbing as much as you can.

<ul><li>If you really love what you do, and it genuinely makes you happy, then it is passionate work, by default.</li><li>As we work most of the day, if it is a stressful, avoidable experience, then we are not living fully.</li><li>Working on what we don't want to do all week and then following our passion on weekends isn't a very rewarding experience.</li></ul>

Living passionately means valuing time, not getting into 'time-suck' activities that drain your mind. Own your time and spend it wisely on things that excite you, or fire you up.

But before I get into why, I want to talk a bit about the focus of "life coaches", "self-help gurus" and anyone else writing about how what they have to say can help you live a more fulfilled life by finding YOUR PASSION.
More times than not I meet coaches who went to some seminar to learn how to coach and have not lived a life that provides them the experience to help others through real challenges mentally, physically, financially and emotionally. Just because they got "certified" on how to ask questions and walk people through copy cat exercises doesn't mean they actually know what they are talking about. I get it, they may get some clients or many but I have met way too many of you to know that this has been the majority from my experience. There are of course some real bad mofo's. All I am saying is that if you are going to hire a coach, be sure to get to know them and their story so you can decide whether they are someone that can help guide you because they have been there.
I have read dozens if not hundreds of these articles and was constantly searching for my passion because they made it seem like it was a treasure to find and all I had to do was map out a path and I would arrive to this state of nirvana once I was living my passion.
It took me almost 30 years to realize this. It was Spring 2014 when I realized that it was ridiculous to search for that single passion or two that was going to make every day worth getting out of bed.
I realized how silly it was to do all this searching and self reflection with exercise after exercise by myself or with a "coach" trying to find that passion that would just fuel my fire and yada yada yada (Seinfeld reference anyone?).
Realizing this, I decided to test out what it would be like to live passionately in everything I did rather than trying to find that single passion that would make all the difference. I can't recall very many, if any, articles talking about this concept as an alternative to finding THE passion for me.
It did not take long to see the positive impact all around in my life when I started living passionately. When I was stopped searching THE passion and started living passionately, every experience became that much more enhanced.
Now I was not confined to only experiencing that euphoric feeling when you are immersed doing your single passion because now I create that feeling in everything I did. At first it was challenge but just like anything, if you keep at it, it inevitably gets easier in time.
I understand that this may sound like crazy talk to many of you, hopefully not all of you, so let me share the 5 examples that come to mind as to what living passionately means to me in my world,

	<li>Being in the moment when with friends and family. That means being engaged and definitely not on my phone. When with someone, they are the center of my attention and I try to just make it the best experience. You never know when is going to be the last time you interact with someone so you want to have a good last experience. I turned off all notification noises on my phone and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I will save that for a future post but if you can't wait, try it for a week and you will know what I am talking about.</li>
	<li>Trying to learn as much as I can and I mean anything. This sounds cliche but I kid you not, when I am exposed to something new, I want to learn as much about it as I can. Education and learning is something I am extremely passionate about and I try to go into everything with an open mind like a sponge to absorb as much as I can. A nickname family and friends call me is TP for Trivial Pursuit. You definitely want me on your trivia or social game.</li>
	<li>Only doing work that aligns with who I am and what makes me happy. Not necessarily the perfect job but one where the positive far outweighs the negative to where you enjoy working. There have been times where I left jobs when both of those things differed. I will write about those in future posts but living passionately in the professional sense, to me, is only doing work that I want to do and on my terms as much as I can get to make it worth it. We give anywhere from 8-10 hours a day, five days a week to a job so we might as well be passionate about what we are doing. Otherwise you are just coasting through life collecting a paycheck. If that works for you, great, but that definitely doesn't work for me because I want to grow professionally and enjoy what I am doing.</li>
	<li>Owning my time and deciding how I spend it. Time is our most valuable resource! Think about it, we don't know how much we get and we don't know when it is going to run out and we are never going to get it back. The clock is constantly counting down but you don't know from what. How crazy is that?? Take that in for a moment............ If you are like me then maybe you are thinking to yourself, why the heck do I do things I don't want to do? Very rarely do I waste time doing things to do things. Of course there are those day to day tasks that have to get done but I am talking about owning your time to direct towards things that are going to fire you up rather than wasted in time sucks like social media and TV. When you live passionately, you cherish your time and apply it towards things that are going to bring you to life rather than wasting it away looking into a smart phone or big screen TV, both of which gather data usage on you and sell it so BIG media can suck you in further.</li>
	<li>Being open to new experiences. I am totally down to try almost anything once as long as I don't think there is a high chance of serious injury and real possibility of death. Say what you will but nothing is really worth putting my life at risk. The only situation I can think of where I would do that is to save someone else. I wouldn't be able to sit there knowing that I could have done something to prevent someone from losing their life. I hope that I never have to face that situation but I think I would do what I could.</li>
</ul> 
I could probably write an extensive list because living passionately literally means in every aspect of your life. Those are the first 5 random examples of what it means to me to live passionately to me. I am definitely curious to learn how you are living passionately or how you found that single passion that gets you up in the morning.
