Freelancers that hire other freelancers to work for them is not the same as being an entrepreneur. Investors won't invest in a freelancer because you can't sell out if you're a freelancer at heart.
- If you're a freelancer, then freelance. Focus on your reputation.
- If you're an entrepreneur, don't hire yourself. Instead, build a business that works and thrives with or without you.
It's possible to switch hats, to have two 'jobs'. But we can't wear both hats simultaneously and can't freelance our way to entrepreneurial success.
