I went from “Always Connected” to “Always Disconnected.” In practice, it works like this: On my phone, wifi and mobile data are standard off. I only turn it on when I need it. On my laptop, I use an app called SelfControl during the times I work (try FocusMe for Windows). The app blocks distracting sites. The advantage is that my apps like Evernote, DayOne, Office 365 remain connected so I can save my work in the cloud.

Improve your commute

Having a long commute to work is an overall drag whether we're working at our dream job or doing the things we like. We're most likely rushing ourselves to get there on time.

The solution to this is to allow more time for your commute or to remove it. The stress from rushing degrades our happiness. 

However, if it's not possible to remove it, then do something that makes you feel good during your commute like listening to a podcast or bike to work.
