The Pro's And Con's Of Flexible Working

While employees are generally very positive on the benefits of flexible working, employers can be split, and potentially for good reason.

The Pro's:

  • Improved work life balance.
  • Happier employees which can reduce illness and staff turnover.
  • More autonomy as employees can manage their own workload/time.

The Con's:

  • Staff can feel isolated.
  • Teams need to make extra effort to communicate.
  • Creativity can be more difficult when not face to face

You need to balance these out.

Build Your Morning Routine

A morning routine is personal but working these six elements in will give you great structure.

These are musts:

  • Get up by 7am at the latest.
  • Be healthy. Be hydrated and eat a healthy breakfast.
  • Set your goals. You must set your goals to know what you will achieve that day.

These can flex:

  • The exercise you do, but do some.
  • Mix up your motivation and self care.
  • Use audio books instead of reading.

You can’t always expect to leave work at exactly the same time. However, you must set a maximum time you will work too.

Exercise in the evening can be a great way to work out the tension of the day. It gives you the chance to reflect, work through emotions mentally as well as physically challenging yourself.

Meal planning is the absolute best way to keep you eating healthy. Also, make sure you stay hydrated.

Plan your key tasks the night before. You can then start the day on the front foot.
