It needs to be an authentic manifestation of who you are and amplify what you believe.

Think about this question: What are the keywords and actions that you want to be known for?

What most people don’t realize is that it’s often not actually the writing that is difficult. It’s the thinking behind the writing. “Writing is thinking. To write well is to think clearly. That's why it's so hard." - David McCullough Writing is essentially a robust tool that enables us to clarify and communicate our thoughts. While writing, you are forcing yourself to think critically and exercise parts of your brain that are typically on auto-pilot.  As Einstein once said, “If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.”

You can’t predict what people will want to read. So don't worry about pleasing others.
Don’t try to visualize your audience; every reader is a different person. Don’t try to guess what sort of thing editors want to publish or what you think the country is in a mood to read. Editors and readers don’t know what they want to read until they read it. Besides, they’re always looking for something new.

Write for yourself

<ul>
<li>If it doesn’t induce the reader to proceed to the second sentence, your work is dead. Of such a progression of sentences, each tugging the reader forward until he is hooked, a writer constructs that fateful unit, the “lead.”</li>
<li>Do not count on the reader to stick around. Readers want to know very soon what’s in it for them.</li>
</ul>

The most important sentence in any writing: the first one

<ul>
<li>Writers at their most natural when they write in the first person.</li>
<li>Better to have an opinion and say 'I', 'we', 'us', 'me' than to take everything into a passive voice.</li>
<li>If you aren’t allowed to use “I,” at least think “I” while you write, or write the first draft in the first person and then take the “I”s out.</li>
</ul>

Clutter doesn’t make your writing stylish; in fact, trying too hard makes your writing seem fake.
Just write naturally and clearly; don’t try too hard with fancy words or complicated sentences that are just confusing.

An authentic bio is vital to break through the generic content by unqualified authors. Authentic authors care about the topic, they know the audience, and they have the courage to put their real name on their work. <ul><li>Start with a compelling first sentence that grabs the attention of your ideal reader. Bios often show their friendliness by stringing together various hobbies in their last sentence. For example, "when they're not writing, you can find them hiking or drinking coffee". There are better ways to be approachable:<ul><li>Go all-in on an unexpected skill or interest outside your work.</li><li>Share how you use your work expertise in your personal life.</li></ul> Wrap up the bio with a single next step for the reader to take. "To get in touch, follow him on LinkedIn." or "View all posts by Benny Lewis."

<ul><li>Run it by colleagues or potential clients.</li><li>Test different versions and track what generates the best results.</li><li>Read your bio from your reader's perspective and ask what would catch your eye.</li></ul>

Showing your credibility is essential. <ul><li>To help you not to come off as arrogant, write in the third person. "He is" instead of "I am."</li><li>Focus on achievements, not titles, degrees, or years of experience. </li><li>Use concrete facts, not vague terms like "expert" or "industry leader." This can be done by showing the results you've gotten for customers, putting the spotlight on them while revealing your expertise.</li><li>It's better to focus on subject matter expertise rather than your credentials.</li></ul>

Here’s what I’ve found so far:It’s not note-taking: This exercise is an act of interpretation, prioritization, and decision-making.It’s hard work: Deciding what’s most important is exhausting.You learn to listen better and ask better questions. It changes the way you pay attention, whether listening to a talk or participating in a discussion.You're able to help others more.
