When someone comes to us for guidance and asks about what we should do in a certain situation, we give them honest advice and oftentimes, multiple choices to choose from. After we give out advice, we would then start feeling hypocritical we don't try it ourselves.
That is the Saying-Is-Believing Effect, wherein after we say something to someone else, we're more likely to believe it ourselves.
Though issue arises when the mind only sees the negative.
The term for this is called Negativity Bias, Negative experiences have a greater effect on us than positives experiences. This means we give more importance to the negative.
Meaning we have a tendency to highlight all the negatives things in our life even in reality they are insignificant.
We receive messages from media, friends, and family that shape our body image. Adolescents and teens are the most susceptible to a negative body image. Women are more likely to have a negative body image. Men in Western countries feel they must become more muscular to attract females.
On the other hand, women with a healthy body image and self-image report more confidence, heightened optimism, self-esteem and strong relationships.
