Gathering customer feedback is an excellent first step towards customer-centricity. The feedback obtained is then converted into a strategy that the Product Manager must share with the team or the entire organization. This is commonly referred to as the Voice of the Customer.Voice of the Customer is a term that describes your Customer’s feedback about their experiences with and expectations for your products or services. It focuses on customer needs, expectations, understandings, and product improvement.

The main focus is to find out what problems the Customer faces, not when you sell your solution or product. You want to get objective answers and won’t get if you’re trying to sell a solution or product.&nbsp;Usually, customers don’t know what they need, but they can’t hide what they need.&nbsp;

Don’t talk about your solution

The Customer should be the one who talks more than you. Suppose you give your opinion during a customer interview. In that case, it is equivalent to basing your discussion, the Customer is not focused on the problem they are facing, and they don’t need your opinion.

Don’t talk about your own opinions

Make an initial impression when conducting the perfect interview. You can start this by getting acquainted first, and then you can make small talk with your customers for a while and then continue with a question and answer session. When you can successfully create a comfortable atmosphere, they will automatically open, and indeed, you can obtain a lot of insight.
Try to get answers to the following questions when conducting customer interviews:

<li>When do they need your product?</li>
<li>Where do they need it?</li>

The three main programming languages are: Java, Python, and JavaScript. I strongly suggest that you learn at least one of the three major general purpose programming languages.

1. Learn a Programming Language

DevOps now requires developers to know about OS and hardware.&nbsp;You also need to know about process management, threads and Concurrency, Sockets, I/O Management, Virtualization, memory storage and file systems as suggested in roadmap.

2. Understand different OS concepts

For a DevOps, it's important to have good command in the command line. Knowing some Linux shell like Bash or Ksh and tools like find, grep, awk, sed, lsof, and networking commands like nslookup and netstat is mandatory.&nbsp;

3. Learn to Live in terminal

Gone are the days of isolation, in today’s world, everything is connected to everything which makes networking and security very important.In order to become a good DevOps engineer, you must know about basic networking and security concepts like DNS, OSI Model, <a href="https://javarevisited.blogspot.com/2013/07/how-ssl-https-and-certificates-works-in-java-web-application.html" target="_self">HTTP</a>, HTTPS, FTP, SSL, TLS, etc.

As a DevOps champion, you should know what is set up in your machine and how you can set that up, only that you can think about automating it.In general, a DevOps engineer should know how to set up a Web Server like IIS, <a href="https://javarevisited.blogspot.com/2017/01/12-essential-apache-web-server-interview-questions-answers-java-linux.html" target="_self">Apache</a>, and <a href="https://javarevisited.blogspot.com/2018/07/how-to-setup-jndi-database-connection-pool-tomcat-spring-example-tutorial.html" target="_self">Tomcat</a>.He should also know about Caching Server, Load balancer, Reverse Proxy, and Firewall, etc.

This is probably the most important thing for a DevOps engineer and this is a very vast area as well.As a DevOps engineer, you should know about containers like <a href="https://javarevisited.blogspot.com/2018/02/10-free-docker-container-courses-for-Java-Developers.html" target="_self">Docker</a> and <a href="https://javarevisited.blogspot.com/2018/09/10-devops-courses-for-experienced-java-developers.html" target="_self">Kubernetes</a>, Configuration management tools like <a href="http://bit.ly/2ygZXa3" target="_self">Ansible</a>, <a href="http://bit.ly/2CRTh2x" target="_self">Chef</a>, <a href="http://bit.ly/2xZiAjM" target="_self">Salt</a>, and <a href="http://bit.ly/2yc6O4D" target="_self">Puppet</a>, Infrastructure Provisionings like Terraform and Cloud formation.

6. Learn Infrastructure as code

This is another very important thing for DevOps gurus and champion, i.e. to set up a pipeline for continuous integration and delivery. There are a lot of tools in the CI/CD area e.g. <a href="http://www.java67.com/2018/02/6-free-maven-and-jenkins-online-courses-for-java-developers.html" target="_self">Jenkins</a>, TeamCity, Drone etc. I strongly recommend learning at least Jenkins, as it’s the most widely used and probably the most mature CI/CD tool in the market.

7. Learn some Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) tools

Apart from setup and deployment, monitoring is another important aspect of DevOps and that’s why it’s important for a DevOps engineer to learn about Infrastructure and application monitoring. There are a lot of tools in this space e.g. Nagios, Icing, <a href="https://www.datadoghq.com/" target="_self">Datadog</a>, Zabbix, Monit, AppDynanic, New Relic etc.You can choose some of them depending on which one is used in your company like AppDynamic and Nagios.

8. Learn to monitor software and infrastructure

Cloud is the next big thing and sooner or later you have to move your application to the cloud, hence it’s important for a DevOps engineer to at least know about some of the popular Cloud Providers and their basics. Body language provides a key to succeeding in job interviews. Non-verbal cues make up 60% to 80% of face-to-face communication. Your physical presence shows your strengths as a candidate more than your words. Body language helps indicate whether an applicant is fit for the job. However, in the digital world, Zoom interviews lack the physical cues that are present in live interactions.

Body Language in Job Interviews

Maintaining eye contact is one of the most important body language cues that you can give. Maining eye contact reflects confidence where even research indicates that high status people tend to look longer at people they're talking to than lower status people do.&nbsp; Remember to be generous with your eye contact. Always look at people, not anywhere else. During video interviews, look directly into the webcam and sit close enough to the camera to initiate conversational rapport.

Having a warm and engaging smile is another important aspect of body language during a job interview. When you meet your interviewer, show a warm smile because after all, you will be judged by your ability to connect with people. Practice having an "inner smile" because that refelcts genuine enjoyment and empathy. It's the kind of smile that makes people want to smile as well.

Companies look for people that have soft skills -- basically meaning individuals who are empathetic and comfortable with others. Making open gestures convey those qualities, <ins>but how do we achieve openness?</ins><ol><li dir = "auto">Gesture with your full arm in the direction of your interviewer</li><li dir = "auto">Never cross or fold your arms as you will look defensive and closed</li><li dir = "auto">Avoid awkward gestures by tucking your elbows in your body</li><li dir = "auto">Avoid wrist gestures that suggest nervousness; and</li><li dir = "auto">Keep your hands open </li></ol>Open gestures show others that you can buld rapport and that you are comfortable with yourself.

When talking to a person, you don't turn your back against them but rather face them. This body language shows respect and suggest that you are both aligned. During an interview, whether in-person or virtually, make sure your body is positioned so that you are fully facing your interviewer, this will make the interviewer feel that you are fully committed to what the two of you are discussing.

"Stillness is power" This does not mean that you should be stiff and avoid making any gestures at all, but more so like touching your face, fixing your hair, or fidgeting.&nbsp; These unnecessary movements are like nervous ticks that can convey the impression that you are not at ease with the interview.

The final way of demonstrating strength and confidence is with having good posture. People who feel disengaged at a meeting or who believe they have little to add often slouch. So by having good posture by sitting or standing tall, you're demonstrating stature.
