A design process defines a designers journey to solve problems and to create an idea. Having a consistent process helps you accomplish great things!There are no real definition of a design process. It is different for each company and different for each individual.

Strategy-is the intersection between solving their peple problem and achieving their business goal.Scope- Determines the set of features that are necessary for a feasible solution here you are figuring out how much work.Structure-Interaction Design and Information Architecture, Information ArchitectureSkeleton- UI and Navigation design. Start designing the Navigation Design and picking a tab bar or hamburger menu.Surface- Visual Design helps the interface be more accessible and easy to use and understand.

Lecture 2 : What is the Design Process?

You have to realize that sometimes it is procrastination and sometimes it is just you allocating time in a more effective way. You must realize whether you are actually procrastinating or do you genuinely don't have enough time One suggestion is saying that it doesn't count as procrastination unless you planned to do the activity

1. Not Knowing the Difference between real or fake Procrastination

We as humans naturally procrastinate because we are always thinking of benefiting ourselves in the short term rather than the long term. So when we realize that we are procrastinating it makes no sense to be mad at ourselves rather we should acknowledge we are procrastinating and make the conscious decision whether we are going to continue procrastinating or rather go and accomplish our life goal.

2. Beating Ourselves Up

If we realize that we are not doing what we are supposed to do rather than just saying "I need to try harder" and " This isn't good enough" We should instead focus on changing how we go about doing things. We need to learn to make things easier for ourselvesTrying harder is rarely ever the solution

3. We Press The Try Harder Button 

If we have the mindset that, I am a human I can just try harder and accomplish anything I set my mind to we will undoubtedly fail here are some steps that we should take instead<ol><li>Make it easier for ourselves to accomplish the goal that we want by telling other people, making a reward system or many other ways.</li></ol>

4. We Treat Ourselves As Humans Rather Than Systems

If you already don't want to accomplish the goal, or you hate doing the task and you feel like you have to do it. The chances you will fail will be very highHumans only have a limited amount of willpower available to them each day, so make sure that you figure out ways to enjoy the tasks that you have to do.

5. Trying To Push The Bolder Up The Hill

You should care about design principles because it will help you become a better designer. It will not matter what type of design you are doing wether product or graphic design or motion design

Why Care About Design Principles

Your design must have Feasability, Desireability and Viability in your designs that in turn will make it innovative and much more effective of a design that then aids the design process

1. The Design Must Be Innovative 

You need to actually find problems before you go out and try and solve them that is very important. Your designs must actually solve a problem thus making it possible that your designs does good in this world

Good Design Makes Product Useful 

We value beautiful things. Good designs must first and foremost be good to look at. Thing of Form and Function. You must work for your user not you. It’s Justine the aesthetics Usability effect having your designs look good is a plus.

Good Design Is Aesthetics 

Your designs should be self explanatory. You shouldn’t need to explain everything. The more simpler it is the better. Simplicity is good but as Teslas law brings out we need to make sure we don’ make it too simple

Having your designs is very good but you need to make sure that you have only the core functions. The designs can’t be cluttered, or confusing for it to be successful

No dark pattern. They know what to expect what you see is what they get which is very important

Good designers don’t chase trends rather they look at the history of trends and reflect and make sure you are making the right decisions about different trends and just keep improving.

Make sure your team cares about every little detail because then customers will have no complains thus making your designs much better.

My main philosophy for being more productive is simply to have fun, even when you're doing the smaller boring tasks. Researcher Yu-kai Chou has figured out how to do this using the addictive frameworks games use to draw players in to hours of play. Make sure that you prioritize your tasks that extremely helps to stop feeling overwhelmed. Block your tasks into meaningful chunks and then reproritize them

Reprioritize 

Take time to work on your self make sure you stay active and do things that you love You don’t have to overwork yourself to be a good employee rather you must be productive and create value to the company. Don’t accept every new challenge that comes up. Rather schedule out your time
