That's always gonna remain a question in my head. Though, doing PGDGC gives you a hands on experience in counseling and maintaining therapeutic relationship. However, some people cite it as unnecessary if you already are a Post-Graduate in Psychology.
But if you technically talk about the qualifications of a counsellor, it is deemed as necessary.
PROS:
• It enhance your CV
• Provides you experience and theoretical knowledge
CONS:
• You might be taught the curriculum which you already are well-acquainted with.
• You might end up feeling it's not worth your time or money
