The legendary Dr. Stephen Covey’s book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People changed how many people approached their personal and professional lives. One of the habits, Begin with the End in Mind, focuses on the fact that an individual must put effort and forethought into where they want to go before they begin to move. This type of deliberate effort and intentionality can bring about very successful outcomes in every area of lives.
Our lives don’t have to be nebulous and haphazard. Let’s live with clarity of purpose and effort in order to realize the benefit at the end.
Everyone's purpose is different and where they stem from holds variety. We have no "one true purpose" but we are in charge of what it may be.
In spite of the truth it holds, purpose is something we can cultivate through conscious action and reflection, and it easily wax and wane throughout our lives.
Many seem to think that purpose comes from your unique gifts and sets you apart from other people. That is only partly true.
Meaningful goals that foster a sense of purpose are ones that can potentially change the lives of other people. It is why a crisis of meaning is often a symptom of isolation.
