In the past decade, there have been many cyclones emerging in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. With the most recent one being 'Cyclone Tauktae'.
But have you ever wondered that how are the cyclones named?
The answer is - The cyclones are named by the countries of south of Asia. The names are already given by the countries beforehand.
In 2000 a group of nations wad formed to name the cyclones. This group includes Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Oman, Thailand, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
The next cyclone will be called 'Cyclone Yaas' by Oman.
