These were the flying reptiles dominating the ancient skies. The first-ever discovered pterosaur was Pterodactyl, which was named as per its genus. Their sizes varied from 10 inches to 23 feet. The smallest discovered pterosaur was Nemicolopterus crypticus having a wingspan of 25 cm approximately. The largest discovered pterosaur was Arambourgiania philadelphiae having a wingspan of 12m - 13m approximately.
They fed mainly on fishes, small animals, and a few fed on insects. The pterosaur that fascinates me the most is Tupandactylus (cover picture), it bore a semicircular crest over the snout.
