- Reassure that ego- the existing idea was absolutely right in light of the failings of others.
- Give possible reasons for a simple misunderstanding.
- Providing poor information was morally wrong- they are entitled to the same information as any expert and are of equal value.
- Remind them again of their worth- everyone needs to feel needed and loved.
