Charles Darwin, in full Charles Robert Darwin (1809-1882), is an English naturalist whose scientific theory of evolution by natural selection became the foundation of modern evolutionary studies. Darwin published his theory of evolution with compelling evidence in his 1859 book 'On the Origin of Species'. 'The Voyage of the Beagle' is his another notable work.
