The bot responds to natural language prompts, offering conversational, somewhat stilted responses. The bot remembers the thread of your dialogue, using previous questions and answers to inform its next responses. It derives its answers from massive volumes of information on the internet, and while it may not be perfect, it's still an impressive feat of AI technology.

OpenAI recently announced a new paid version of its chatbot, called ChatGPT Plus. It's currently not available, but one can join the waitlist, and the eventual price will be $20 per month. ChatGPT Plus will provide access even during peak times, faster responses, and first access to new features. This premium version is an exciting development for businesses and individuals who rely on ChatGPT for various applications, including customer service, content creation, and research.

Elon Musk also expressed concerns over OpenAI training ChatGPT using Twitter's database, which led to the end of the exercise.

Criticism

Google programmer Kenneth Goodman tried ChatGPT on a number of exams, and the bot's scores are impressive. It scored 70% on the United States Medical Licensing Examination, 70% on a bar exam for lawyers, nine out of 15 correct on another legal test, the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination, 78% on New York state's high school chemistry exams multiple-choice section, and ranked in the 40th percentile on the Law School Admission Test. These scores demonstrate the bot's ability to understand complex concepts and provide accurate answers, although educators have expressed concerns.

ChatGPT is available via a webpage, so no downloading is needed. OpenAI has yet to release an official app, despite the fact that app stores are full of fake versions. Users should install and use any ChatGPT apps with caution since they are not official. Using ChatGPT is as simple as visiting the website and typing in a prompt.

ChatGPT has rapidly become a widely used tool on the internet, with an estimated 100 million monthly users as of February 2023. The New York Times, citing internal sources, said 30 million people use ChatGPT daily. These numbers are impressive, especially given that ChatGPT has only been available for a few months. It's an indication of the bot's ease of use and usefulness.

The AI chatbot was put to the test and I was asked to solve the UPSC Civil Service Prelims 2022 question paper. However, out of 100 questions, ChatGPT got only 54 questions right. The general category cut-off for the exam was 87.54. Hence, ChatGPT failed to clear one of the toughest exams in the world.
