Several natural biological cycles link the carbon found in the air to plants, as it is absorbed via carbon dioxide through photosynthesis. This plant carbon is consumed by herbivorous animals, then by carnivores and finally by super predators, including mankind.
Finally, all this forms a natural cycle that operates in a loop on Earth. But in the beginning, all these atoms originated in the stars. That's why we're all stardust!
