Christ Willingly Took Our Sin Upon Himself To Cover Our Debt

Christ, on the cross, took our debt upon Himself. All of it, for everyone. He took OUR wages of death so we don’t have to.

“But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him...” ‭‭Is ‭53‬:‭5‬

“and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness” ‭‭1 Pet‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf...” ‭‭2 Cor ‭5‬:‭21‬

This concept is all over in the New Testament. These are just a few examples to show the concept that Jesus took our sin.

“For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.””

A lot of people say “God killed Himself” or “God murdered His own Son” as a sort of objection towards Christianity. The idea is that if God is All-Powerful, could He not simply bring us into Heaven to be with Him and not have to kill Jesus? I’ll try to answer that question for you.
