Our Faith Is About Relationship

Our Faith Is About Relationship

As you can see, even from just a few examples, the New Testament authors, along with Christ, want us to seek God genuinely from the heart, knowing that we’re already loved and saved. We’re not to seek approval from God for what we have done.

“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?” Matt‬ ‭7‬:‭22‬

Although what we do pleases God, it’s not to win him over though pleasing Him, but because we love Him that we want to please Him.

“For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.””

People will often say that Christianity is a relationship, not a religion. Lots of times, the reason is to get away from the negative connotation that the word ‘religion’ has (oppressive, strict, closed-minded, hateful, etc.), but there’s more to it than one might think. Let’s get into it.
