Sjahrir, The Forgotten "Mr. Little"

Sutan Sjahrir burst onto the political scene of Indonesia as a young, passionate firebrand. Even in his early years, he became a central figure in the movement to liberate his homeland from Dutch colonialism. He played a crucial role in urging Soekarno and Hatta (known as the first president and vice president to Indonesia) to declare independence, even though he wasn't present at that historic moment.
