The Elegant Path of Diplomacy

Unlike many nationalists who advocated for armed struggle, Sjahrir championed a different path. He believed in the power of diplomacy and negotiation to achieve Indonesian independence. This anti-fascist and anti-militaristic approach, however, drew criticism and accusations of elitism, often due to its complexity and appeal to the educated elite.
