House music originated from a club called the Warehouse in Chicago during the early 80s. As disco died off in the late 70s, the launch of an anti-disco movement (1979) emerged, giving disco a bad reputation.
The ones who loved it found refuge in the Warehouse, an underground club, where they found like-minded individuals who were free and unashamed of who they were. While the era of disco was dying, the Warehouse provided a reinvented mix of beats and music to inspire people to keep dancing. House music became the descendant of disco.
