Plot Summary:

Santiago dreams of finding a treasure located in the Egyptian pyramids. Believing the dream to be prophetic, he sells his flock of sheep and embarks on a journey. Along the way, he encounters various individuals who guide him, including a king named Melchizedek, who tells him about personal legends, and an Englishman obsessed with learning alchemy.

Santiago also meets a crystal merchant, who helps him earn enough money to continue his journey, and the alchemist, a wise figure who teaches him to read the omens in life and pursue his destiny.
