To become a pilot you first have to decide what direction that you want to pursue.

No matter which direction you want to pursue, everybody has to take the first step. Look into a local flight school and take a discovery flight. A discovery flight gives you a chance to be in the left seat with the controls in front of you. Most of the time you will be permitted to take the controls to cruise around when you are up in the air.

What next?
When you complete your discovery flight, you will make the decision to pursue flight school. The next flight you take will be your first PPL flight. You must complete your PPL to fly on your own and act as PIC. You can now carry passengers!
