Here are some of the mistakes I made which caused me to quit :1. "Yes I know everything !!!, This language is a piece of cake".&nbsp;2. Not writing my notes. This is like motivation as you know every day you have to fill that book with something new 3. How To Learn Python Without Quiting Like A Pro ! 

Write a program To calculate the total wage. Use the function with parameters (hours, pay rate ) for the same. It should prompt the user for hours and pay rate. Use try and exempt while converting to float. The worker gets a 2 times pay rate for every hour above 40. Compute the pay if A. John worked for 50 hours at a pay rate 20 dollars B. Also, I wondered what's the harm in learning something totally new, after all, python proves to be really helpful as well. I bet a lot of you are in the same position as me right now - College students - want to save money - want to learn a ton of things - want to get a job- start investing - and most importantly, find that one thing you truly love. (Guys! I am not talking about- you know - relationships ) For me, I found my love in researching programming and investing related concepts and sharing it with you guys! I don't know how many of you will see this but I love what I am doing.</div><h2>Mistakes I made while learning Python&nbsp;</h2><div>Okay, enough of the intro. Let me tell you how I started learning python from the scratch. I will be honest with you guys, I started learning python about 4 years back. I watched a ton of youtube videos, installed the python text editor and the latest python version at that time. I learnt a lot, I understood like - the basics. I tried watching more videos, learning more programs etc. But, guess what. NOTHING WORKED. I had the basic clear in a couple of days and started basic programs in a week. But I NEVER touched python again for like 3 years after that. 3 years later I wish I had not stopped learning python that day. But thinking as to why to stopped I came up with these reasons (You could learn from my mistakes.)</div><OL><LI>The basics of all programming languages take just a week or two at max. Don't get overconfident that "Yes I know everything !!!, This language is a piece of cake". Instead go through the same basics again and again until you can literally teach what you learnt to your parents, friends and any stranger.</LI><LI>&nbsp;Enjoy writing your own notes. This is like motivation as you know every day you have to fill that book with something new and your learning curve will always grow + you can come back to them any time and strengthen your foundation as well :)</LI><LI>Not actually trying to code by finding sample questions. there is a tendency for people (I did the same) to just keep learning, keep researching, keep learning and soo on without actually spending more time on the python editor itself.&nbsp;Remember this Time spend on python's editor &gt; Time spend learning python</LI><LI>Thinking there is just one way to write code. NOPE. That's not how coding works. You can literally have a hundred ways to do the same thing. You will realize this only when you start practising and keep watching youtube or your courses. You don't have to prove to anyone that you know python. You are learning it for yourself and be proud of that fact. At the same time, don't memorize code. It cant explain the importance of the ability to read and understand code.</LI></OL><h2>My Learning Path&nbsp;</h2><div>There are a ton of other Tips and mistakes I would love to share and I will make a separate blog post for that. Let me share my learning path with you all for now. So here is how I started and what I did (You can follow the same) :</div><OL><LI>Watch a couple of youtube videos. DONT watch the really long ones i.e more than 30 mins or so. Or you can watch them in parts. Don't binge the videos. Give yourself time to learn the concepts, practise concepts on your own, Lookup questions(Solve them without any help) and then watch the next part of the video. Repeat the same for each concept. Here are some links to the video which will help you understand python on YouTube.&nbsp;</LI></OL><UL><UL><LI><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfscVS0vtbw" dir="ltr">Video Tutorial 1 </a>&nbsp;I had followed this tutorial a couple of years back. It's a really clear step by step tutorial. However, Don't try to understand everything in this video. There are parts where he just zooms over and you might not understand is new to programming. Some parts are explained really well and this will help you get a basic understanding of what is python and you could start practising after this. Watch this in intervals of 20 mins.</LI><LI><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8pPdKYpowI" dir="ltr">Video Tutorial 2 </a>&nbsp;The structure and flow of the course are superb. There is a good detail of explaining what is python, which is something I really like about this course. the instructor is also really good. However, personally, I would prefer learning data types, strings etc later as they come to their full potential only when you know everything about loops, if and else.</LI><LI><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXeEoD0pB3E&amp;list=PLsyeobzWxl7poL9JTVyndKe62ieoN-MZ3" dir="ltr">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXeEoD0pB3E&amp;list=PLsyeobzWxl7poL9JTVyndKe62ieoN-MZ3</a>&nbsp;This is also a great playlist. I have not gone through this completely but I love the instructor after watching just a few minutes of his video. This is a playlist I would highly recommend.&nbsp;</LI></UL></UL><div dir="ltr"> 2. Once you start feeling confident, go and register at<a href="https://www.blogger.com/#" dir="ltr"> https://leetcode.com</a> and go try out a few problems for yourself. They have problems ranging from all difficulties. Easy, Medium and Hard. When I started the easy problems were a nightmare. But yes, It's fun. You have to spend a lot of time doing problems if you want to advance in python. 3. Figure out what interests you in Python and start learning that. For me, I love data analytics in python and that's what I am learning right now. You can figure out what you like there are a lot of options such as Game Development (where you use pygame), Data analytics (where you use pandas, numpy and mathplotlib etc) or any other field that interests you. If you want a detailed list, let me know in the comments. 4. Test your skills by teaching others !! And find python projects on the net which interest you and work on them. They help you improve your python skills and increase the chances of you getting an internship for a job at the same time !! </div><h2>Tricky problems for newbies (I spend hours doing this)</h2><OL><LI>&nbsp;Create a program to calculate the area of a circle which prompts the user to enter the radius of the circle</LI><LI>Write a program to calculate the total wage. It prompts the user for pay rate and hours worked. The worker gets 2 times the pay for every hour worked after 30 hours. Enter values 20 hours and 36.5 as pay rate and 42 hours and 9.5 as pay rate.</LI><LI>&nbsp;Write a program that prompts the user for a number. print 'odd' if the number is odd and 'even' if the number is even. also find the value of (x + xx + xxx + xxxx) of that number</LI><LI>Write a python program to find the exact time left between two dates. Prompt him for the current time and date.&nbsp; &nbsp;</LI><LI>&nbsp;Write a program to find the largest number in a particular list&nbsp;</LI><LI>Write a program to find the smallest number in a particular list&nbsp;</LI><LI>Prompt the user for the Base and height of a right-angled triangle. Answer with the 3rd side.</LI><LI>Create a basic calculator&nbsp;</LI><LI>Convert any for loop to while&nbsp;</LI><LI>Find the letter which repeats the most in a string or list.</LI></OL><div>I will write the answers to all these questions and send 10 more questions in my next blog post.
