Avoid premature optimization

When facing a problem we tend to generalize so we can approach the problem at a systemic level. We do this when building products but also in how we conduct our lives. However, it's mostly premature:

• Abstraction is a form of optimization and should not be done before the space has been properly explored. 
• Standardization is also optimization and should be avoided until there is enough evidence to support the standardization.
