Yes, by all means necessary, respect people and don't abuse them because they are made in God's image and He loves them. But when it comes to your faith in Jesus, you have to be bold enough to declare it any chance you get without fear just like Jesus did.

Please understand this: No matter what you do or say, you will in one way or another offend people. Just make sure you aren't offending God - the One who truly matters - by living in denial of His eternal truth because of your fear of others.
