Dopamine gets released in the anticipation of reward. - Deepstash
Dopamine gets released in the anticipation of reward.

Dopamine gets released in the anticipation of reward.

You might have known this unlike me, but I recently found out that

We think dopamine gets released whenever we reccieve a reward.

However, it doesn't work that way.

Suppose you're in front of a slot machine wherein as soon as you pull the lever and you see 7 popping up as first digit ,

Your brain has already anticipated the reward of you getting all Sevens and you've already got that dopamine hit. Now it is immaterial whether the next two numbers are 7 or not.

You are destined to pull the lever for the second time the moment the first 7 popped up.
