The first thing you notice when you look at your past is where you stand in that situation. This comes naturally for our brain, as it’s one of the mechanisms we use to prepare for the future. We think that patterns are indicators, but the truth is that it doesn’t always work like that.
Past events don’t necessarily repeat themselves, but we fail to think so when we remember them. That’s because we are subjective in our memories and our brain is wired to stay in the risk-free zone. Naturally, the decision we draw is that we won’t engage in new and exciting situations, due to past failures.
