Not going to pull your leg here, but a plane is controlled in the air by moving hinged flaps on its wings and tail.
1. Changing Pitch - Plane goes nose-up or nose-down to dive or climb.
2. Rolling - Plane rolls to one side, dipping one wing or the other.
3. Yawing - Plane steers to the left or right like a car.
4. Pitch - Controlled by raising or lowering hinged flaps on the rear wings called elevators.
5. To Pitch Up - in a small/simple Plane, the pilot pulls back on the control column to raise the elevators.
6. Rolling - Controlled by large hinged flaps on the wings called ailerons.
