The human brain is controlled by two separate systems:

• System 1 - Very fast, it works on intuition and evolves as we encounter common situations;
• System 2 - Slower. We tend to avoid using it too much, but it is mandatory for complex problems...

Going from one to n is just a start of another new business which is already existing in the market. You are building something which is not unique, which is not something people can say 'okay this is something new in the market'.Its just another service from another brand.

If you feel a gut reaction after meeting a hire, it's probably System 1 thinking.

But you can mitigate the risk of hiring the wrong person by engaging System 2 thinking. Check their references. Ask probing questions. Validate your gut reaction with other members of your tea...
