Authority is not always harmful. But adherence to authority should never be compulsory, and it should never go unquestioned — whether they’re your preacher, your boss, your teacher or your best friend. 

Talking until the last minute is a common mistake many speakers make.

For an hour-long presentation, plan for 45 minutes of talking and 15 minutes for questions.

The best you can do is to learn from your mistake. Believe that you’ll make a better choice next time, and move on. Doing so will help you learn to be more trusting of yourself and your decision-making skills.
