Love is not blind, attachment is. When you are starved for love and connection or anything you need for survival, you will lower your standards and take nearly anything. Overlooking red flags, baggage, and things about the person/thing that a healed and filled version of you would not. It’s like grocery shopping on an empty stomach. You’re more likely to fill up on things you do not need or just straight junk. The solution: Let go to grow.

Reconnecting with self takes some healing. The key to healing is feeling, not suppressing. Oftentimes we don’t want to think about what we are feeling. Avoid unhealthy coping mechanisms and old patterns by paying attention to how you are feeling. Give yourself space as if you were someone else. Place attention on pinpointing exactly what it is you are feeling, not the situation itself. Once acknowledged, embrace the emotion, once the emotion is embraced, release the emotion.
