Imagine that you have lived your life and you are now at a vulnerable age. Then one day the first time machine (a very basic and crude one) is invented. It can only send one sentence.

You use it successfully to send yourself in 2024 instructions to avoid a disaster and you in the present have just averted the event that caused you much suffering. Be it a physical incident or a bad relationship you have just missed you wouldn't know. But this is a decision that will considerably improve your future.

If you successfully immersed yourself in this scenario you should feel some joy. I know I do. ✨
