Dogs have an incredible ability to recognize and respond to their humans:

• Scent recognition: A dog's brain shows increased activity in the reward center when they smell their owner's scent, indicating a strong positive association.
• Voice recognition: Dogs respond more positively to "dog-directed speech" (the high-pitched voice we often use with pets) than to normal human speech.
