There’s a saying that Stu Philips says, and I really like this saying: it’s that exercise forgives a lot of sins.
I’m seeing that recurring theme in not just exercise physiology, but in other fields as well, sleep deprivation being one: insulin resistance goes up, there’s glucose dysregulation, homeostasis goes out of control, even all-cause mortality increases. But doing exercise mostly can rescue a lot of that. Physical activity really can forgive some of those sins.
