Formation of a White Dwarf

Formation of a White Dwarf

The remaining core of the Sun will cool and contract into a white dwarf. This dense, dim stellar remnant represents the final stage of the Sun’s life cycle. Once the Sun has become a white dwarf, it will emit very little light and heat. Earth will be a frozen, dark world orbiting a dim stellar remnant. Surface temperatures will plummet, making Earth an extremely cold and desolate place.
