Something inside us makes us feel uncomfortable with the idea of accomplishing too many great things as a result. Deep down, you don’t think you deserve what you want. The heights and burdens of success make some feel like a king and others like a fraud.

There’s actually very little correlation between self-esteem and success.  Research on self-esteem strongly correlates with how good people feel, in general. 

Self-esteem is complex and can be a good or a bad thing, depending on what is measured. 

They might be exceptional at what they do, but they downplay their skills and accomplishments. This can hold them back from reaching their full potential, as they fail to recognize and appreciate their own worth.
