Creativity 

Designers always make conscious decisions and act with intention. Be it organizing their bookshelf or presenting their work, they see the opportunity to do things better. In our society, everything is a result of decision made by someone, designers are those someones.

Intention 

Release your idea into the wild before it’s ready. Tim Ferris in his 4-hour work week says that whenever he has to write a book or start a business, he tests it by running ads on Google/ Social media and based on how much engagement / interest he is getting from the potential customers, he makes the decision whether to turn it into an actual project or not.

TEST TEST TEST 

Fear is the biggest obstacle people face in creative success - fear of being judged, fear of getting started, fear of the unknown. Fear of failure also holds us back from learning all sorts of new skills, from taking on risks, and from tackling new challenges. But if you want more success, you have to be prepared to shrug off more failure. People with creativity figure out what went wrong and what to do better next time. The messiness of such trial and error may seem uncomfortable at first, but action allows most of us to learn at a faster rate; it’s almost a prerequisite for success

Thomas Kelley runs the marketing side of the hugely successful industrial product design firm IDEO. His brother, David, started the company in 1977 in Palo Alto, CA. One of his earliest projects was designing the first mouse for Steve Jobs at Apple Computers.

Tom Kelley

David Kelley, Ph.D., is the founder of The Atlas Society in Washington, DC, which promotes open Objectivism, the philosophy originated by novelist and philosopher Ayn Rand.He is an internationally-known expert in Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism. A former college professor of philosophy, he has written and lectured extensively on issues in epistemology, ethics, politics, social issues, and public policy. He has also been a consultant to the film adaptation of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged.
