The pink tax, unlike its name suggests, is not an actual tax, but a cleverly put-together idiom that explains how many products directed towards women generally have a higher retail price than their male counterparts.In simpler words, “It's gender-based pricing, which means that there's an incline on products that are intended for women but which are the same as products traditionally intended for men.” as Judit Arenas would say it.

What is Pink Tax?

Observing the results, we can see an average 13% price difference in daily care products, with men’s products being on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Perhaps there would be different requirements for men and women, as there are bodily differences, hence the composition of the products would have to be different for men and women, however, a slight difference in the composition would not be a plausible reason for such a hike in prices for women’s products.

What It Means 

So, what exactly is feminism supposed to mean? Or more importantly, what does feminism mean to us? Quite simply and frankly, feminism stands for all genders facing equal rights and opportunities. They exist to advance, defend, and protect the rights of women and girls.

Feminism 

Feminists claim that their vision is gender equality for all and that they work towards this through various programs and partnerships that vary from region to region. For example, the movement building across the Asia Pacific, and their research, policy, and advocacy in Australia. Feminists use inclusivity as a core part of their movement, and the phrases “intersectionality” or “intersectional feminists” have surfaced quite often. Intersectional feminism can seem complicated, but it really is just about acknowledging the interchange between gender and other forms of discrimination.

There Main Philosophy 

What is misandry? We’re all broadly aware of the term misogyny which refers to the hatred and prejudice of men towards all women, but have we ever pondered the idea that there may be a similar term in favour of men? Misandry. Misandry could be defined as condescension towards, hatred and contempt for, or prejudice against males.

Misandry 

Colloquies and discussions over the idea of misogyny and misogynists, in general, are quite widespread and prevalent in today’s day, yet the profundity of misandry is often undermined in forums of discussion. The concept of misandry is veracious but however, it is often justified, masked, denied, or even unacknowledged. As a matter of fact, double standards in our society prominently lie among the lines of misogyny being profoundly shameful and frowned upon, whereas misandry is often supported and encouraged.

The Problematic Part

whilst modern feminists claim to stand for equality between the two genders, movements and awareness campaigns toward body positivity and the fight against body-shaming when it comes to men’s height, stand to be non-existent.

However, a majority of the population of both men and women stand to follow these beliefs, and practice the use of such slurs, still claiming to be part of the feminist party. Once again revisiting the fact that real feminists consider the rights of both genders when coming to a conclusion about equal rights.
