We’ve all been bombarded with the message that if we’re not <a href="https://markmanson.net/being-special">making ourselves special in some way </a>, then we don’t matter. But as <a href="https://markmanson.net/this-is-water">David Foster Wallace </a>wrote at length about, some of the most heroic people in the world are those who toil silently through the <a href="https://markmanson.net/boring-ways-to-become-more-creative">monotony and boredom </a>, who live lives of simple satisfaction and anonymous successes.
