Wisdom comes from experience, knowledge and judgement. Wisdom helps us in being better decision-makers.

What is wisdom?

Think about whether the advice actually helps you in the way you are living right now. Before applying the advice, remember that not every advice is meant for every single scenario and question yourself whether it is actually useful for that specific scenario. Everybody lives different lives and has different experiences. Their way of living and thought processes are different from yours so not every idea of theirs may benefit you.

Stop blindly taking advices in

The act of being wise is by being able to view a situation from many perspectives but choosing the most useful perspective to see it from. Some people are naturally good at this, whereas most have to slowly pick up this skill through time and experience.

View every situation in a third person point of view. Move your emotions completely aside and take some time to weigh the benefits and inconveniences.

Prevent making regrettable decisions 

The word ‘control’ means maintaining authority over something. Everyone has some control over their doings.

What is ‘control’?

Emotions cannot be controlled. When we feel an overflowing rage, our conscience is aware that we are angry. A part of you has a certain perspective of whether your anger is good or bad. This perspective which we see and judge ourselves is what we can control. This perspective holds us back from doing something that hurts others or ourselves from our emotions.

Awareness of what can and cannot be controlled

Perspective is the key to living a life of rationality rather then emotion. Your perspective of every action is as it is because of the teachings you learnt growing up and your own morals.

Perspective 

Before you strengthen your perspective, you need to know whether this perspective is helping you become a better person. Are you sure your morals are completely right? Your morals should not only be what others tell you but what you truly believe yourself.

Is your perspective helping you?

Spend your time alone to<ul><li>think about whether your past actions you regret go against your morals. If they do not go against your morals, forget them.</li><li>think about whether you have a positive perspective of your way of life </li><li>before performing an action, shove your emotions aside and think about whether your perspective agrees with whatever you are doing</li></ul>

Strengthening perspective 

Make what you can control be stronger than what you can’t control. The weak are those whom let their minds follow the uncontrollable events.
