Sometimes, if you stop paying attention, or don't show attention, they will think they can't get to your feelings and hurt you. This can cause them to stop.

You can attempt to talk them out of bullying with a commonly known method better known as "kill them with kindness."

Talk To Them

Just let them do what they wanted, but didn't show any sign of stopping. In other words, be a punching bag. Like all punching bags, they get boring and you then find a better task. This primarily takes longer, but can work well.
