I'm studying the societal implications of digitalization in complex social systems. I share what I learn here, in write-ups and also in lectures at the University of California.

I guess that in academia, my work is mainly known for the first study that assessed how much technological information there is in the world; in public policy for the first digital action plan with the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean at the United Nations; and in popular media alerting about the intervention of Cambridge Analytica in the campaign of Donald Trump a year before the scandal broke. I enjoyed working with digital development projects in over 20 countries and with dozens of publicly traded companies. You can also find some of my research nicely explained in popular outlets like Scientific American, WSJ, Washington Post, The Economist, NPR, BBC, Die Welt, etc.
