Learning doesn't have to be a separate part of life, but instead a holistic being that permeates a community.

Learn from each other. Found a cool trick on a skateboard? Show a friend! Read a cool idea? Print it out and distro it!

Art isn't just what occurs on stage, but the bodies that surround it. The participation creates the movement. Moshing, thrashing, dancing, and kissing is in itself art.

Everyone can be in a band. create a zine, or make patches. It's accessible as long as the community cares for one another.

Find comfort in vulnerability and sensuality. Being raw doesn't just mean unfiltered, but also stripped of barriers. Defeat is just as valuable as victory.

Just because there is an encouragement of chaos does not mean self advocacy is negligible. In the space one must have a mutual respect for everyone. Only through that can the adrenaline of being thrown around be joyous. If it becomes apparent that someone isn't taking no for an answer the venue has every right to exile them from the space.

Counterculture is the thread that ties these individual culture together. By being a rejection of capital and the status quo these groups are enabled to find freedom within themselves if they allow it.

One must reject assimilation and find confidence within themselves to be different from their peers even within the group.

To be a hippie you don't need floral clothes, only an anti war spirit and ecological mindfulness

Despite the popularity of bands like the Sex Pistols and Crass punk music is strenuous to engage with when not at a show. The show is the element that brings together the ideas and people, which is the forefront of the movement. Try not to commodify and appeal to others, only experiment and offer honest reflections of self.
