How To Define Number Ranges For Material Type In SAP
With the help of using any one of the following navigation method, material number ranges can configure:
SAP Menu Path
SPRO > IMG > Logistics – General > Material Master > Basic settings > Material types > Define number ranges for material type.

Configuration Steps
Step 1: – Implement t-code “MMNR” in the command field from SAP easy access screen.
Step 2: – On range maintenance: material master overview screen, select maintain groups (or choose function key F6) options.

Step 3 : – Number range Material NR screen, select the material type group on group maintenance and go to menu bar > group > press on maintaining the option for defining number ranges for SAP material type.
Step 4: – On maintain intervals: material master screen, press on insert line (F6) for adding number ranges for material type.
Step 5: – Now, keep the following details.
From No: – Update start number of material type number range interval.
To Number: – Update the last number of material type number range interval.

Ext: – Select Ext option if this no. range interval is for external no. assignments.
After sustaining material type number range intervals, select save and ignore the warning message and save the configured details. Outerial type and choose on select element group and press on assign element group.
So, for SAP MM material type, successfully we have maintained a number range interval.
