Few tips to spot out a manipulator:

They want to highjack all our time, so that we won't be left with time to pursue things/ hobbies too.

They make sure our entire time is filled with their presence, so that we don't get time to socialize/ call or chat with friends.

If someone does something that hurts them, it's a mistake. But if they do something similar, they will try to brush it off. If the topic is pursued, the other person is termed as not understanding/ supportive/ leads on the drama.
