Calls and messages from unknown numbers looking to get our banking details or swindle us all together have risen by 83 percent over the past two years, according to Action Fraud.
The pandemic made everyone order online, resulting in phishing, smishing and fake delivery text scams.
The core reason is the decades-old global telephone protocol called SS7 that is still in use in modern mobile phone networks.
