He analysed people who had achieved only average results their entire lives, but had suddenly exploded into great success, and found that at their take off point, everyone of them engaged in Blue Sky Thinking.
Imagine looking up at a clear blue sky, with no limits. Project forward several years and imagine your life was perfect in every way.
What would have to have happened for you to create that perfect life?
Once you have the answer to this, come back to the present moment and cause :)
In personal strategic planning, you should begin with a long term view of your life and begin with practicing idealization in everything you do.
Begin thinking about what your life would look like in 5 years, if it were perfect in every way!
By combining idealization and future-orientation, you cancel the process of self-limitaion.
You imagine that you have no limitations at all on what you could be, have or do, which leads to setting true goals for your life.
It seems that all three - responsibility, control and happiness go together.
The more responsibility you accept, the greater amount of control you have. The greater amount of control you have, the happier you are, and the more confident you become. When you feel positive and in control of life, you set bigger goals and challenges.
So remember to start small and take charge of one little thing today :)
