As and when you identify yourself as a negative identity, you are strengthening your belief system as you are that identity. The Neural Pathways in you brain gets stronger and stronger as you identify yourself more and more.
For example - Ever identified yourself as someone who is not confident.
Every time you identify as a person who has low confidence, you are strengthening the pathways that makes it a dominant path in your brain. This makes you more negative.
