We train ourselves to automatically assume something terrible will happen. We may think that we will be better mentally prepared.
But expecting the worst is just a way of torturing ourselves. Constantly worrying about the next problem will stop us from living and enjoying life now. We need to stop fretting about things that are not in our control. Instead, do something meaningful. Hug the children, play with the dog. Kiss your significant other.
